PIELES ORANGE WINE

Made with grapes selected from the best plots of our Binifadet estate, in the south of the island of Menorca, characterized by its calcareous soil.

Manual harvest.

Cold maceration of the whole grapes for two days. Alcoholic fermentation with skins and seeds and lees work for 6 months in a clay jar, opening the lid periodically looking for controlled oxidation.

Straw yellow color. Aroma of cereals, honey, dried herbs, withered flowers, citrus, stone fruit, ripe fruit and notes of yeast. In the mouth it is powerful and balanced, with a taste of ripe fruit.

Pieles is a wine that surprises. A white wine made like a red wine. The white wine that red wine lovers like. It surprises "orange wine" lovers with its finesse, breaking the typical "orange wine" patterns. We like to start or end a special meal with this wine. A suggestion to start with would be fried almonds with dried tuna, to finish with an aged Menorcan cheese or an apple tatin.
