Menorca, Reserve of the Biosphere, is the lost paradise. Visit us to discover all its hidden beauties!.
Menorca was declared Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1993, in recognition of the care that we Menorcans have always granted to our island, of generous, lush, privileged nature. Hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking; water sports such as kayaking, sailing, diving; 4000-year-old archaeological monuments; Muslim, Roman, French, British legacies; enigmatic lighthouses and whitewashed villages are just some ideas.
The agriculture, animal breeding and fishing tradition of the island, which give meaning and content to its rich cuisine - with emblems like the exquisite Mahón-Menorca cheese, the popular gin, our superb fish, etc. - are now complemented with the wine produced on the island, of higher and higher quality, as well as national and international recognition.
